Zero Landifll

Zero Landfill™

ZeroLandfill™ is an award winning beneficial reuse program held seasonally that reduces pressure on local landfill waste from architectural and interior design specifiers while supporting the supply needs of local artists and art educators.  Materials that one industry may take for granted hold high value for other audiences.  ZeroLandfill™ demonstrates beneficial reuse as a practice that enriches our community.

Since 2006, the ZeroLandfill™ project teams have collaborated with the architectural and interior design community, with IIDA, in identifying, diverting from local landfills and repurposing back into the community over 300,000 pounds of specification samples that hold value for other audiences.

ZeroLandfill™ has been recognized by Contract Design Magazines with an Inspiration Award for socially responsible innovation in the interior design industry.  Jeff Krejci received the Ray C. Anderson Sustainability Award for 2009 as a ZeroLandfill™ Co-founder.  Thank you to IIDA Ohio Kentucky Chapter for the enthusiasm and support to make this program a success.
