Letter From Our President
Dear Members and Friends of IIDA:
Let’s all pause and take a moment to reflect on the wonderful year it has been. Our network of IIDA members, leaders, and benefactors have rallied together to bring notable programming across our two states as we look to advance the profession of interior design.
IIDA National honored our chapter with a Best Thing Ever award this past summer, recognizing the THRIVE Leadership Roundtable we hosted across all five of our city centers. This is the fourth consecutive Best Thing Ever Award our chapter has received, which is unprecedented. The second annual THRIVE event was held this past September, gathering leaders across our industry for discussion around creating places for belonging. We ask for your support in 2023 to continue these important discussions.
November of 2022 marked the first biennial Ohio Kentucky Chapter-wide Design Awards. All five city centers gathered in celebration of excellent design and its meaningful impact throughout our communities. The journey to get here was long and fruitful, one we could not have accomplished without the support or our Benefactors. We cheers to you in celebration of this accomplishment.
As we turn toward 2023, we look forward to local design award celebrations across many of our city centers – Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati/Dayton, and Louisville/Lexington. Continuing with tradition, these promise to be evenings of good spirits and ample networking. We hope to see you there!
The upcoming year also marks the rejuvenation of our legislation efforts in the state of Ohio. Advocating for the commercial interior design profession is always at the forefront of our programming. In 2023 we elevate the efforts, rolling out a three-year road map which culminates in the professional recognition of interior designers. Please look for opportunities to support and advocate alongside IIDA.
