Meet the Jury

Erika Moody, FIIDA, NCIDQ
President: Helix Architecture + Design
Erika Moody is the President of Helix Architecture + Design, a nationally recognized architecture and interior design firm headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. Known for her entrepreneurial approach and leadership in workplace design, Moody has played a significant role in shaping the firm’s growth and influence within the architecture and interior design industry.
In 2021, Moody was named President of Helix, and under her leadership, the firm has since expanded its local and national presence and become a majority women-owned firm. Beyond her role at Helix, Moody is a prominent leader in the global design community. In June 2024, she was inaugurated as the IIDA International Board President, becoming an even stronger advocate for interior design and its invaluable role in shaping environments that inspire occupants and promote their well-being. Moody currently serves as Immediate Past President on IIDA's 2025-2026 International Board of Directors.

Elisabeth Mejia, CID, IIDA, NCIDQ, LSSYB, LEED Green Assoc.
Office Design Leader, Interiors: HKS
Elisabeth Mejia is an award-winning designer and Office Design Leader, Interiors at HKS in New York, where she leads strategy and growth for the interiors studio. She moves fluidly across scales and sectors, bringing the same depth of intention to a cancer center as she does to a convention center or a corporate workplace, shaped by a singular belief: that the most powerful spaces are the ones that make people feel something.
Elisabeth's design philosophy is rooted in empathy as a discipline. She embeds herself in her clients' worlds and that conviction is deeply personal. Living with hearing loss has attuned her to the ways spaces speak, or fail to speak, to the full range of human experience, making her a more precise, more compassionate designer for it.
Recognized as one of ASID's 2024 Ones to Watch, a recipient of the 2023 IIDA NY Ellen Kushman Award for Outstanding Leadership, and a 2025 Ringling College of Art and Design Alumni Honoree for Interior Design, Elisabeth's leadership is defined by both excellence and generosity. She is currently serving as President of IIDA NY for 2025 to 2026 and is a faculty member in the MPS Healthcare Design program at NYSID, where she is shaping not just spaces but the next generation of designers who will inhabit them.

Richelle Nolan
Managing Director, Principal: IA Interior Architects
Richelle’s trajectory spans over 20 years and reflects a deliberate and multifaceted approach to growth. From her early work in commercial interiors to expansive leadership roles in sectors like science and technology, healthcare, and education, she has steadily built a portfolio that showcases both depth and versatility.
Her time expanding IA Interior Architects’ presence in Portland and later returning to lead the San Francisco studio signals a key career move—one marked by both ambition and impact.
Her leadership extends well beyond project execution. She is an active voice in national design conversations, frequently contributing insights that elevate the profession. Her perspective on mentorship and safe space creation—highlighted in IIDA’s “Women Lead Design” series—underscores her belief in inclusive leadership and investing in the next generation.
Richelle’s leadership is deeply rooted in mentorship, a principle she enacts through her involvement with IIDA, ASID, and CCIDC. She’s served as a juror for student design charrettes and continues to advocate for emerging talent.
