The IIDA OHKY Chapter was pleased to host the first chapter-wide student design charrette the afternoon of Design Awards. 15 students from different schools across Ohio and Kentucky participated in the 90 minute charrette, centered on the creation of a student commons area that prioritizes belonging and inclusion. The event began with a presentation by Kaelynn Reid, Kimball International, to introduce the topic and provide insight on using multi-sensory elements to enhance user experience. Responses were evaluated by Kaelynn as well as Carrie Malatesta, SHP, and Stacie Gilliland, Moody Nolan.
The winning team of the charrette, Team 2 (Aeden Grothaus - Ohio University, Morgan Verbe - The Ohio State University, and Sara Ward - The University of Kentucky) was announced later that evening at the Chapter Design Awards.
