IIDA Ohio Kentucky is excited to announce our 7th Chapter award that recognize our outstanding chapter program excellence from our 2025 year!
Each year, the IIDA Chapter Awards celebrate the passion, creativity, and impact that IIDA Chapters bring to the interior design profession. Up to four chapters are selected based on the innovation and excellence demonstrated in their submissions.
This year, our chapter was thrilled to submit Student Conference for consideration—and for good reason.
What Made Student Conference So Special?
In 2024, the IIDA Ohio Kentucky Chapter launched its inaugural Student Conference—a dynamic two-day event in Cincinnati aimed at empowering the next generation of interior designers through professional development, networking, and real-world exposure. Held at the Contemporary Arts Center and 21C Museum Hotel, the conference featured a hands-on design charrette, engaging panel discussions (including one moderated by IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO Cheryl Durst), and breakout sessions focused on branding, career paths, and the future of interior design. Students also explored firm and site tours, a Formica manufacturing visit, and a vendor/firm expo with over 34 participants. With 90 students in attendance from across the region, the conference culminated in the Chapter’s annual Design Awards celebration and set a new benchmark for student engagement, industry insight, and meaningful connection within the design community.
