This summer, IIDA Columbus had a great time teaching students in 3rd-8th grade about Interior Design at Camp Architecture + Design!
This year camp was held for 7 weeks to include an even greater number of students than previous years. We always enjoy being part of this annual program that introduces children to the many different types of design careers and pathways available to pursue as they continue their education.

This year's theme was stadium design. During our time with the students we talked about design fundamentals like Emphasis, Rhythm, Balance, and Scale. We discussed how these different concepts can be applied to their stadiums through space planning, wayfinding, materials, graphics, and furniture.
The kids always have amazing ideas and surprise us with how they apply their new knowledge to their projects. We love watching the students create with no boundaries and explore ideas through creating 3D models.

Thank you to the Center for Architecture + Design for putting together this incredible youth experience and allowing IIDA Columbus to be a part of it!
