RECAP: CIN | DAY Seat at the Table Launch Party

The secret is finally out!

We’re excited to finally introduce A Seat at the Table, a brand-new IIDA Cincinnati/Dayton event where creativity, community, and design collide. Teams (or solo creators!) will transform a thrifted or decommissioned piece of furniture into a completely reimagined one-person seating experience with no resemblance to the original piece.

The final creations will become part of an interactive art installation on Friday, October 16 at The Royce in Cincinnati, where guests can gather, connect, and bid on their favorite pieces throughout the night. This event is all about pushing creative boundaries, celebrating reuse and sustainability, and showing how design can bring people together in meaningful ways.

For those at the launch party, they were able to explore the Recycle and Reuse Hub and look for inspiration and materials. Thank you to SLOAN for being an In Kind Sponsor for purchasing the inspiration pieces and materials.

Proceeds from the auction will support the IIDA OHKY Chapter Advocacy, Scholarship, and Enrich Funds, making every creation part of something bigger.
