RECAP: CIN | Seat at the Table
October 16, 2026 | The Royce | Cincinnati, OH
On October 16, IIDA Cincinnati Dayton hosted its inaugural A Seat at the Table at The Royce in downtown Cincinnati, bringing together interior designers, architects, students, and creative professionals for an evening celebrating design, sustainability, advocacy, and community.
Inspired by the desire to continue fostering creativity and collaboration within the local design community, A Seat at the Table created a new opportunity for meaningful connections and conversations about the future of design.
A highlight of the evening was the sustainable chair design competition, which challenged participants to create original chairs using recycled, repurposed, or discarded materials that might otherwise end up in a landfill. The completed pieces were displayed as an interactive functional art and featured in a silent auction. The auction received generous bids, demonstrating the community’s enthusiasm for creative innovation and sustainable design.
Beyond celebrating design, the event also provided an opportunity to introduce attendees to IIDA Cincinnati Dayton’s broader mission, including its ongoing advocacy efforts and work to support the interior design profession.
IIDA Cincinnati Dayton extends its sincere gratitude to our sponsors, benefactors, participating teams, attendees, and planning committee. Their generosity, dedication, and support were instrumental in making this inaugural event a success. We are proud of the community that came together to bring this vision to life.
The celebration continues in the coming weeks, as we look forward to sharing an interview with the team whose chair received the highest bid at the silent auction.
Stay connected with IIDA Cincinnati Dayton for more event highlights and updates.
