IIDA Columbus & AIA Columbus Pride March 2025
On behalf of the AIA Columbus + Ohio/Kentucky IIDA Alliance Group, thank you for marching with us this past weekend in our second Pride Parade! Your energy, creativity, and support made it an unforgettable experience.

A huge shoutout goes to Dan Hanes of Columbus Architectural Studio for letting us transform his iconic 1985 Honda Acty into a stunning float—expertly brought to life by the incredible talent within our community.
We’re also incredibly grateful to the AIA Columbus board, staff, and IIDA leadership for their support and coordination. Special thanks to Aimée Moore, Amy Kaspar, Mike Vala, Gabby Bennett, Samantha Bonner, and Hunter Miller—this celebration would not have been possible without your dedication and hard work.

When we first “floated” the idea of filling the truck with tower designs from local firms, we weren’t sure what to expect. Would we even get six firms on board? But your enthusiasm blew us away. Each and every tower showcased not only innovation and craft, but also a shared pride in who we are as a community. From thoughtful assemblies to rainbow flourishes and stellar modeling skills—you truly set a new standard.

Beyond the float itself, what made this year so special was you—the people who showed up. Seeing new faces and diverse voices from across our design community meant the world to us. As a young and growing alliance, your presence gives us strength and momentum to continue this work year-round.
Though Pride Month is just one part of the year, please know how proud we are to stand with you in this vibrant, inclusive community. Thank you for making our second Pride March such an amazing celebration.
We look forward to Columbus Pride 2026 and collaborating with you and bringing together more partners to support an amazing community.
With love and gratitude,
Your LGBTQIA+ Alliance Group
