2023 Cin/Day Gutterball Tournament - Recap!

Another year, another of IIDA Cincinnati/Dayton's Gutterball Tournaments! The annual outing was held at Stone Lanes in Cincinnati in March, during peak Spring Break season. Despite this, the design community showed up & showed out for this year's theme: "Down the Rabbit Hole." This theme played on the concept of the technological and social media rabbit hole, as well as the storyline of Alice in Wonderland. Some of the designers took the theme to heart and dressed up in fun costumes (which should have won an award!).

The evening began with networking and cheers-ing before find our spots on the lanes. Then bowling began and the competition was on! Attendees enjoyed around two hours of bowling, along with bottomless pizza and some Wonderland-themed bites. The Kimball/Champlin team, comprising Brian Schuermann, Sarah Bostic, April Mummert, Christine Madden, and Tracy Pohl, emerged victorious with the highest score in the first game. Meanwhile, Andrew Karpuk of GMI Companies earned the coveted Individual Lowest Score award in game one. Team members got to take home some IIDA gear and gift cards as their trophy.

We can't thank our attendees and sponsors enough for making this such a successful event. It was an evening full of reconnecting and reinvigorating our community, and we can't wait to continue carrying out programs like these. If you have any additional feedback, suggestions, or are interested in joining our IIDA Cincinnati/Dayton Board, don't hesitate to reach out to iida.cindaycodirector@gmail.com.
